You've been in the audience your whole life.
You just didn't know you paid for the tickets.
Every great show has a cast. Wrestlers in the ring. Storylines on the screen. Heroes and villains. Someone to cheer. Someone to boo. The audience picks a side. The audience thinks it's real.
Meet the people you thought were fighting for you.
Every match has a script. Here's how the same one plays out, year after year, decade after decade, no matter who's "in charge." Read carefully. You'll recognize every line.
Have you seen this show before?
Of course you have. It's on every night.
You know things. Deep down. Things you're not supposed to say out loud. Things that would make you sound "crazy." Things that connect too many dots too neatly. Let's say them.
Two point four trillion dollars. That's what we spent last year on the theatre. On preparing for wars. On fighting them. On the machinery of it. And that's just the first payment.
The Owners collect on every payment.
The Wrestlers get their percentage.
The Chorus gets paid to keep you cheering.
The audience just keeps bleeding.
Every audience has a moment when they realize the show isn't for them. When the crowd starts to leave the stadium, the game ends. The wrestlers stop fighting. The Owners lose everything.
DemoCry is the audience walking out.
I'm writing this from Nairobi. On a laptop that keeps threatening to die. With eyesight that's been failing for years. I've watched this show my whole life. I've watched my country lie to me about wars. I've watched my friends here in Kenya suffer the consequences of those lies.
I'm not asking you to believe me. I'm asking you to notice what you already know. To speak what you already feel. To join the ones who've decided the show is over.
The house always wins in a rigged fight. So we're not fighting anymore. We're leaving. And we're taking everyone we can with us.
