DemoCry exists at the intersection of several regulatory frameworks: technology, finance, political speech, cross-border operations, and data protection. This Compliance Statement provides transparency on how we position ourselves within these frameworks.
We publish this because clarity protects users, protects the mission, and prevents misunderstanding by any regulatory body.
01Purpose of This Statement
This document exists to:
- Clearly define what DemoCry does and does not do
- Prevent misclassification by regulators, banks, media, or bad-faith actors
- Protect users from misunderstanding the nature of their participation
- Establish good-faith engagement with legitimate regulatory frameworks
- Set boundaries against inappropriate government or corporate overreach
02What DemoCry Is
DemoCry Is:
- A civic engagement platform enabling individuals to vote on issues
- A transparent funding mechanism routing voluntary subscriptions to voter-directed solutions
- A media and information service providing investigative content on major issues
- A referral network that pays commissions to those who introduce new members
- A technology platform using blockchain for vote verification and financial transparency
- Operated by a legitimate UK-registered company (Kudos AiN Ltd, No. 17177713)
03What DemoCry Is Not
DemoCry Is NOT:
- Not a political party or affiliated with any political party in any jurisdiction
- Not a government entity or seeking to replace any legitimate government
- Not a bank, credit institution, or licensed financial services provider
- Not a securities exchange, broker, or investment platform — subscriptions are not investments
- Not a cryptocurrency exchange — we use blockchain for verification, not for trading
- Not a charity or registered nonprofit — contributions are not tax-deductible donations
- Not a lender or credit provider
- Not a data broker or advertising company — we do not sell user data
- Not a news publisher of record — our investigative content is opinion-based analysis and commentary
- Not a legally binding referendum authority — our votes are civic expressions, not legally binding elections
- Not affiliated with any government, intelligence agency, foreign power, corporate lobby, or political movement
04Legal Structure & Jurisdiction
Operating Entity
Kudos AiN Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under Company Number 17177713.
Primary Jurisdiction
The Platform is legally governed by the laws of England and Wales. Operations are physically conducted from Nairobi, Kenya. Users are located globally.
Regulatory Bodies We Engage With
- UK Companies House — corporate registration and annual filings
- HM Revenue & Customs (UK) — corporation tax and VAT
- UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — data protection registration
- Kenya Revenue Authority — where operational tax obligations apply
- Kenya Office of the Data Protection Commissioner — data protection compliance
05Financial Regulation Position
Important Notice
Nothing on DemoCry constitutes financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice. Consult qualified professionals in your jurisdiction before making financial decisions.
Subscription Tiers & Equal Vote Weight
DemoCry offers multiple subscription tiers with different access levels and benefits. However, higher subscription tiers do not grant additional voting weight, priority influence, or preferential treatment in platform governance. Every verified paying member has equal vote weight.
Higher tiers unlock access to additional content, community features, and recognition — never additional political power on the Platform.
Platform Operations Funding
15% of each subscription payment is allocated to platform operations, covering essential infrastructure, hosting, AI verification, security, payment processing, and legal compliance. This allocation is reviewed annually and reported publicly. The platform constitutes an integral component of any and all solutions, whether directly or indirectly, and this operational funding ensures its continuity.
Subscriptions Are Not Investments
When you pay a $1/month subscription to DemoCry, you are purchasing access to a civic engagement service. You are not:
- Buying a security
- Purchasing shares in any company
- Making an investment expecting financial returns
- Entering into a lending arrangement
- Purchasing a token that grants ownership
Referral Commissions Are Marketing Fees
Referral commissions paid to creators and members are marketing referral fees, similar to affiliate marketing commissions used across the internet. They are:
- Paid for successful customer referrals
- Not investment returns
- Not passive income schemes
- Subject to income tax in the recipient's jurisdiction (recipient's responsibility)
Not a Pyramid or Ponzi Scheme
DemoCry is not a pyramid or Ponzi scheme because:
- The primary product is a real, tangible service (voting platform, content, community)
- Members pay for the service, not to recruit others
- Members can benefit from the platform even without recruiting anyone
- Commissions are paid from actual paying subscribers, not from new subscription capital
- The commission structure is single-tier, not multi-level
- Full transparency is maintained on-chain
06Political Content Position
Editorial Independence
DemoCry publishes investigative content, commentary, and analysis on political and social issues. This content:
- Represents the editorial view of the DemoCry founders and contributors
- Is opinion and analysis, not neutral news reporting
- Is protected under freedom of expression and press freedom in the UK
- May be considered political speech, protected by relevant constitutions and human rights frameworks
Non-Partisan Position
DemoCry does not endorse political parties, candidates, or political factions of any country. Our position, consistently applied:
- The primary political divide is control versus freedom, not left versus right
- The interests of the people are frequently unrepresented by traditional political structures
- Truth, transparency, and direct participation are principles we advocate regardless of who currently holds power
Not Election Interference
Voting on DemoCry is civic expression, not participation in any national election. Nothing on DemoCry constitutes voting in, funding of, or campaigning for candidates in any nation's official elections.
07Content Standards & User Conduct
DemoCry exists to elevate The People's Truth. That mission requires clear, enforced standards on what is and is not acceptable on the Platform.
Zero Tolerance For Hate Speech
DemoCry does not permit, tolerate, condone, or provide any space for hate speech in any form. This includes but is not limited to:
- Content targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Incitement to violence against any person or group
- Dehumanizing language, slurs, or coded hate speech
- Content promoting terrorism, genocide, or organized violence
- Harassment, threats, doxxing, or targeted intimidation
- Content that violates fundamental human dignity
Vote Verification Standards
Because DemoCry uses AI-assisted video verification for votes, we require members to use only the specific vote statement provided for each topic. For example, if the topic is "War or Peace", acceptable statements are strictly limited to "I want peace" or "I want war".
Any member who deviates from the specified statement — whether by adding opinions, commentary, hate speech, insults, threats, or unrelated content — will have their vote removed and will not be counted. The purpose of the specified statement structure is to protect the integrity of the vote from manipulation, coercion, and abuse.
Three Strikes Rule
DemoCry operates a fair and transparent three-strikes system for members who breach content standards:
- First Strike: Vote removed, member notified with clear explanation of the breach and how to comply going forward. No further penalty.
- Second Strike: Vote removed, member notified, and account temporarily suspended for 14 days. Formal warning issued.
- Third Strike: Account permanently terminated. All associated referral relationships reviewed for potential termination. No refund of subscription fees.
Serious breaches — including but not limited to incitement to violence, terrorism-related content, child endangerment, or coordinated abuse — may result in immediate permanent termination without prior strikes, and referral to law enforcement where appropriate.
Appeals Process
Members may appeal any strike or termination by emailing appeals@democry.world within 30 days of the action. All appeals are reviewed by a human moderator (not AI). Decisions are made within 14 days of receipt.
Why This Matters
DemoCry stands for The People's Truth. Truth is fundamentally incompatible with the dehumanization, manipulation, and coercion that hate speech represents. A platform that permits hate speech in the name of "free speech" becomes a platform that permits the loudest voices to drown out the most vulnerable ones — which is the opposite of what we exist to enable.
We defend robust debate, uncomfortable truths, sharp disagreement, and challenging ideas. None of that requires or benefits from hate.
Our Commitment: The right to vote on DemoCry is protected. The right to weaponize that vote to spread hate is not. Every member enters this Platform having agreed to these standards. Enforcement is consistent, transparent, and human-reviewed where consequences are significant.
08Blockchain & Cryptocurrency
How We Use Blockchain
DemoCry uses the Stellar blockchain network for:
- Recording anonymized votes in a permanent, publicly verifiable manner
- Tracking transparent allocation of subscription funds to referrers and Solutions Fund
- Providing cryptographic verification of platform financial activity
What We Do Not Do
- We do not issue our own cryptocurrency, token, or coin
- We do not conduct token sales, ICOs, IEOs, or similar offerings
- We do not facilitate cryptocurrency exchange between users
- We do not offer cryptocurrency wallets, custody services, or trading
- We do not provide investment vehicles related to any cryptocurrency
Payment Acceptance
We may accept payments in traditional currencies (via M-Pesa, cards, bank transfers) and, subject to jurisdiction, in specific cryptocurrencies. Accepting cryptocurrency payment for a service is standard commerce, not a securities activity.
09Solutions Fund Compliance
Structure
65% of every subscription is allocated to the DemoCry Solutions Fund. This fund is:
- Managed by Kudos AiN Ltd as fiduciary trustee
- Held in transparent accounts with all major transactions recorded on blockchain
- Allocated to projects and initiatives based on voter consensus
- Subject to quarterly public reporting
Not a Charitable Trust
The Solutions Fund is not a registered charity, foundation, or charitable trust. Contributions to it are not tax-deductible in any jurisdiction unless the ultimate recipient project separately holds charitable status.
Legitimate Beneficiaries Only
Solutions Fund allocations may only go to:
- Legally established entities (companies, cooperatives, community organizations, registered charities)
- Projects with verifiable outputs and accountability
- Recipients in jurisdictions not subject to sanctions
- Purposes consistent with the DemoCry mission as voted by members
Independent Audit
Once the Fund reaches material scale, we commit to annual independent audit by a qualified accounting firm, with audit results published publicly.
10Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
Although DemoCry is not a regulated financial institution requiring formal AML licensing, we implement AML best practices:
- Payment processing conducted only through licensed, AML-compliant payment providers (Stripe, M-Pesa, etc.)
- Unusual transaction patterns are flagged and investigated
- Suspicious accounts may be suspended pending investigation
- We cooperate with lawful AML investigations by competent authorities
- Maximum subscription limits prevent large-scale laundering attempts
11Sanctions & Restricted Jurisdictions
DemoCry complies with UK, EU, and UN international sanctions regimes.
Users in jurisdictions subject to comprehensive sanctions may be blocked from accessing paid services. This currently includes but is not limited to:
- Territories subject to UK, EU, or UN comprehensive sanctions
- Individuals or entities appearing on relevant sanctions lists
The list of restricted jurisdictions may change based on evolving international sanctions.
12Identity Verification
Our Approach
DemoCry uses proof-of-humanity verification (via AI-checked short video) rather than traditional Know-Your-Customer (KYC) identity verification. This means:
- We verify you are a real, unique human being
- We do not require government ID for most users
- We do not build detailed identity profiles
- Your civic participation is not tied to state identity systems
When Additional Verification May Be Required
Additional identity verification may be requested for:
- Payouts exceeding regulatory thresholds in a given jurisdiction
- Investigation of suspected fraud or abuse
- Compliance with specific legal obligations we cannot refuse
13Tax Compliance
Our Obligations
Kudos AiN Ltd complies with all applicable tax obligations, including:
- UK Corporation Tax
- UK VAT where applicable
- Kenyan tax obligations where operations create liability
- Withholding and reporting obligations for referral payments where required
Your Obligations
You are responsible for reporting and paying tax on any income you earn through DemoCry (including referral commissions) in your own jurisdiction. We do not withhold tax on your behalf unless legally required to do so.
We recommend consulting a qualified tax professional in your jurisdiction if you earn significant income through the Platform.
14Employment & Workforce
Fair Employment
All persons employed or contracted by DemoCry (currently a small founding team) are engaged on fair, legal terms. As we grow, we commit to:
- Fair wages meeting or exceeding local legal minimums
- Safe working conditions
- Compliance with local employment law
- Preference for local hiring in operational regions (particularly Kenya)
- Meaningful ownership or benefit-sharing for key contributors
Independent Contractors
Creators and referral partners are independent contractors, not employees. They set their own hours, choose their own methods, and take their own tax responsibility.
15Intellectual Property Protection
Our IP
Certain DemoCry-associated intellectual property (including but not limited to specific implementations of Miracle Villages, Kudos Roads, Miracle Seed Oil, and proprietary technical approaches) is held under trade secret protection.
Details of these solutions are shared only with:
- Verified partners under signed Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Investors under confidentiality obligations
- Legal advisors as necessary
- Government regulatory bodies where lawfully required (with appropriate protective conditions)
Public Facing
Public-facing content describes the vision and outcomes of these solutions, never their specific technical methods. This protection exists to prevent extractive appropriation by well-funded actors who could otherwise copy the solutions without preserving their ethical foundations.
16Transparency Commitments
To the fullest extent consistent with security, IP protection, and legal obligation, DemoCry commits to:
- Public blockchain records of all financial allocations
- Quarterly public reports on Solutions Fund usage
- Annual company financial summaries once operational scale justifies
- Independent audit results published publicly (as fund scale requires)
- Prompt public disclosure of any material security incident
- Transparent policy on government data requests (see Section 16)
17Government & Legal Requests
Our Position
We recognize that legitimate law enforcement occasionally requires access to user data. We also recognize that requests can be improper, overreaching, or contrary to fundamental rights.
Our Standards
We will:
- Comply with lawful requests supported by proper legal process
- Provide the minimum data necessary to satisfy the request
- Notify affected users where lawfully permitted
- Challenge overbroad, improper, or gag-order requests in court where reasonable
- Publish annual transparency reports on aggregate request volumes
- Not preemptively grant access to any government or agency
- Not build "backdoors" for surveillance access
What We Cannot Provide
Because votes on blockchain are anonymized and video verification files are deleted within 72 hours, there is very limited data we could hand over even if compelled. This is by design.
18Complaints Process
If you believe DemoCry has acted improperly, unlawfully, or contrary to these commitments:
- Contact us first at compliance@democry.world — we take all complaints seriously and respond within 14 days
- If unresolved, escalate to appropriate regulators:
- Data protection: UK ICO or Kenya ODPC (see Privacy Policy)
- Company conduct: UK Companies House
- Fraud allegations: UK Action Fraud or Kenya DCI
- Legal proceedings, if applicable, follow the dispute resolution process in our Terms of Service
Final Note: This Compliance Statement will evolve as DemoCry grows and as we engage with more jurisdictions and regulators. Our commitment is that any changes will be in the direction of greater transparency and stronger user protection, never less.
Compliance is not a cage we live inside.
It is the foundation the truth is built upon.
